Abstract: The recent explosion of AI developments has made it vital for language educators to equip themselves with new knowledge and skills. This session addresses that need by examining examples from research and practice. In part one, six of the presenter’s studies will be shared. The initial two investigate ChatGPT-related practices and perspectives among teachers (n=367) and students (n=2,522) of multiple languages. The third focuses on 153 foreign language teachers’ experiences with and opinions on machine translation. The fourth, a systematic review of recent machine translation articles, draws insights from research conducted in Japan and abroad. The fifth examines the views of 21 students who used multiple AI tools in an ‘AI and Language Education’ course. The final study is an auto-ethnography on the presenter’s use of ChatGPT to learn Spanish, German and Japanese. In part two, the presenter will demonstrate how AI-integration is handled in different ways in her courses, offering practical ideas for syllabus design, guideline formation/ implementation, AI ethics, AI literacy, and skill-building with various AI tools.

概要：近年の急速なAI開発により、言語教育者は新しい知識とスキルを身につけることが不可欠となっている。本セッションでは、研究と実践の事例を検証することで、その必要性を訴える。第1部では、発表者の6つの研究を紹介する。最初の2つは、多言語の教師（n=367）と学生（n=2,522）におけるChatGPT関連の実践と見解を調査したものである。3つ目は、153人の外国語教師の機械翻訳に関する経験と意見に焦点を当てる。4つ目は、最近の機械翻訳に関する論文の系統的レビューであり、日本および海外で実施された研究から洞察を得ている。5つ目は、「AIと言語教育」コースで複数のAIツールを使用した21人の学生の意見を検証する。最後の研究は、発表者がスペイン語、ドイツ語、日本語を学習するためにChatGPTを使用した際のオートエスノグラフィーである。第2部では、シラバスの設計、ガイドラインの作成・実施、AI倫理、AIリテラシー、様々なAIツールを使ったスキルアップのための実践的なアイデアを提供しながら、発表者が自身のコースでどのようにAI統合を実践しているかを紹介する。
